catching up on some sl.eep
Manson was on Sunday. It was amazing, the tickets I got were great. I was against the barrier and only James was behind me. It was packed, but they only let like the first 100 people close to the stage and James and I were in the lucky 100.
There was a kid standing next to me, very nice kid, I didn't ask him his name but he said he was from Venezuela. He was there alone, he said he hasn't made many friend since he just moved here from... Dallas? I should have been friendlier, but I was busy cuddling with my hubby. Who was not happy about having to stand in the pit and at the mention of a "mosh pit" gave a pitiful groan.
James doesn't usually go to shows with me, specially if I have pit tickets. He had a bad experience in Tampa during a My Chem show when they toured for Revenge. He doesn't like being touched and he is a big guy with a heart of gold and short temper. Just because I begged him to not hit anyone he put up with the pushing of this huge stupid girl who then threw up on his shoe.
But this experience was nothing like that. The waiting, very long wait, was fun. They opened the doors at 6:30, the first band "Ours" which I didn't like, they sounded to me a bit like Muse, but you couldn't understand anything the guy was saying and he sounded a bit like ambulance siren, came out at 8:30. Manson didn't come out until almost 10. But it was a fun wait, we talked with the people around us, not just the kid, but another group that was next to him and behind him. They were all very nice and told me a bit about Manson. I like Manson, but I'm not a huge fan I don't know if I could be even called a fan. I don't have any of his albums.
Music, comic books and movies were covered.
Again the show was amazing, they put a really good show, that I think if you like this type of music you really should see it at least once, it is great. He came out with a mic that looked like a knife, pretend stab himself and Twiggy (sp?)Showed us his butt and really his pants almost all came down.
Oh! There were protestants outside. I've never seen anything like that! Very cool, and annoying. They were talking about god and how we'd be going to hell for being at the show. They had loud speakers and boards and signs. Funny stuff, I swear.
So when Manson comes out he says "So doctor said I shouldn't sing today. Seems as though I have laryngitides or full blown aids or some shit like that. But I woke up to the sound of Christian protestants (now here I don't remember what he said exactly but it was something like) I wouldn't want them thinking their God canceled my show."
He also thanked Miami, because thanks to us "this all started" Now I'm not sure if he said the first Florida show was played at the Jacky Gleason or if the first Marilyn Manson show ever was played there.
He played a lot of old songs, which was wonderful for me because it is what I'm familiar with.
He came down and sang against the barrier. Right there beside me, pretty cool. I think this was during the beautiful people.
I got a set list. I made friends with the security in front of me, so he didn't stop me from going around the barrier to get it. I felt bad though because the kid beside me asked for it and it was throw towards him, then they threw piks and I got one too, but agian felt bad for the kid and gave it too him. Stupid me feeling guilty over the set list I gave him the pik, just so then he gets a another set list and leave. If I'd known he'd get another set list I would have kept the pik!!!
Plus when I ran around the barrier to get the pic, another security pushed me hard on the shoulder. I'm surprised I didn't bruise.
Unfortunately I only have sucky pics from my camera phone that I need to text message to myself. We managed to sneak in a camera, but James heard someone say they'd snatch them if they saw anyone take pictures.
I left the car keys in the car and James sneaked out to check if the car was hopefully unlocked. We didn't notice I left the keys until we were already inside. James says they had some doors open around the back and ppl with out tickets were sneaking in threw there and that is how he went out and back in. He found his door unlocked and the keys on my seat and just left the camera there. The idiot!!
While he was gone I was talking to the security I made friends me and he said he hadn't been told to snatch cameras and that if I took pics he wouldn't take it away and James left it in the car!!
Show ended at midnight, maybe a bit later we got home around 1am and I was still so hyped I didn't go to bed 'til near 3am. Yesterday Andres woke me up at 6 and I was up all day until 1am today. I woke up got Andres ready for school (he didn't have school on Monday)and went back to sleep. I needed it, I felt so hung over and I haven't had a single drop of liquor. I woke up at 10 and I feel so much better!
